The alleged incident is claimed to have happened in Edinburgh’s Atik nightspot in June.

A source said: “The woman came from out of town and was on a hen-do with a group of friends.

“They’d had a great night and were really enjoying themselves.

“The dance floor was really busy.”

Officers quizzed the woman and the former kids’ telly presenter separately at the venue.

The television and radio figure was then arrested and charged with sexual assault.

Police have passed their report of the incident to prosecutors who have yet to decide what action to take.

The alleged incident is said to have happened on a “VIP night” to mark the re-opening of the venue after a £450,000 refurbishment.

Former JSL hunk Marvin Humes, 32, was hired as the guest DJ and chatted to Leslie during the evening.

Leslie, from Edinburgh, also used to take to the decks at the club which was previously known as Cav.

He is good pals with the club manager Mark Cameron.

Leslie got his big career break in 1989 when he became the first Scots presenter on BBC kids’ show Blue Peter.

He went on to present Wheel of Fortune and then This Morning until 2003.

He has since concentrated on property development and also presented a radio show on Forth Two.

His fame in the 1990s saw him go out with Welsh actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, 48, and nurse-turned-glamour girl Abi Titmuss, 41.

The popular Atik nightclub was used for several scenes in T2 Trainspotting.
