2018 Access Bank Lagos City Marathon, Famous Jay Jay Okocha Would Be A Competitor (Photo)
An estimate of above 100,000 participated in the 2018 Access Bank Lagos City Marathon including the previous famous Nigerian Footballer Jay Jay Okocha.
Reports came from the Nigeria News Agency that the 42km race started at exactly 6:30am at the National Stadium despite the early rain in Surulere, the take-off point and some parts of the city.
An event which involved more than 100,000 participants, was a plus to the development of sports in the country Okocha said'.
He noted that an event of its magnitude would always attract the world to the country.
“This is big and massive as far as sports development is concerned and I must commend the sponsors for their consistency.
“I am here to support the event as well enjoy myself,’’ he said.
Oyedeji said that such an event was vital to sports growth and the physical wellbeing of the participants.
Every Year this event keeps getting bigger and its a good thing we keep witnessing it.
Beside competing in the race, it has health benefits to the physical and well-being of yhe participant.
“Many youths are involved and it’s a way of engaging them,’’ he said.
